Saltwater Fishing May through July:
July through September:
For the ultimate angling thrill, you may want to consider saltwater fly-fishing for Salmon, Ling Cod, Sea Bass, & even HALIBUT! Weather conditions do vary in Southeast Alaska with temperatures ranging between 50 to 75 degrees. Our average yearly rainfall is a mere 14 feet. However, it has been known to sunshine here too, so do not forget your sunscreen. Many people ask about mosquitoes, “Alaska’s State Bird”, we are fortunate not to be blessed with the pests. They are further north of us.
Freshwater Fishing April through October: These trips are in wilderness areas & do require a bit of hiking. Often a floatplane is required to access them. Steelhead & Trout are available in May & early June. By mid July, the rivers begin to spill over with Pink, Chum & Sockeye Salmon. August offers excellent Trout & Sockeye Salmon fishing with the Silver Salmon & Steelhead arriving by the 3rd week of September. We ask that all guests supply their own waders, fishing vest & rain gear. We also advise you to bring your own fishing rod & reel for river fishing. Beacon Hill Lodge does have freshwater tackle for use if you do not wish to provide your own. Our guides specialize in fly-fishing. If spin fishing is your preference, our guides are happy to accommodate you.
